This seems weird to me: I am using PeerBlock with uTorrent in up-to-date Windows XP64.

I originally was using just the default antip2p and spyware list. Then recently I added 3 more lists -- 2 Bogon and level3 -- and now most of the blockings are to BitTorrent Inc. and to my router talking to my IP every 3 seconds both UTP and UDP e.g.

PPPoX Pool - rback14.sntc01 xxx.xxx.x.xx:nnnn zz.zzz.zzz.zzz:mmmmm TCP/UTP

where the x's stand for my router IP and the z's for my IP from my ISP.

Is that normal and if so why?

And why so many connections to BitTorrent Inc.? I've deactivated automatic updates.

Hello

I have been running PeerBlock (1.0+ r404) for several months on my Windows 2003 remote server without any problem.

Yesterday morning my server crashed. After some investigation I found out that the problem was PeerBlock. No PeerBlock server runs fine. PeerBlock server crashes between minutes to few hours.

I uninstalled and reinstalled same problem. I do not allow logging so is not a log file going astray.

Question is why it crashes my machine and why now?

Any suggestions? Thanks.

For the past week or so I've been noticing that peerblock is blocking outbound connections while I'm not torrenting. I've never seen it do this before. I ran a virus scan and it detected nothing, so I'm confused as to why this would be happening. Attached picture is an example of what I'm seeing.

These blocks took place while I WAS NOT torrenting, hence my concern. Does anyone know what would cause this? Thanks for any advice.

When I install Peerblock on my machine, on the first attempt to run the program the machine locks up and the screen goes straight to blue and white alternating vertical stripes.

The windows box is locked up because normal shutdown commands do not work. I must physically kill the power to the machine. I thought it was possibly the screen resolution, but no screen resolution settings fix the problem and it does not explain non-response to commands.

I have Windows 7 home 64-bit with 8GB of RAM and an Intel i5 processor. It is not a brand name computer, I built it. Any ideas?

Is it possible to run multiple instances of PeerBlock under the same user account? I read this thread [forums.peerblock.com] but it's a bit different situation.
I basically have one block list which needs to be enabled all the time and which needs to also have http blocked. But occasionally I need to use other block lists and with those I need to have http allowed.

So one solution would be to run two instances, one with http blocked and the second with http allowed and both of those would have their own lists. Is there any way this is possible?

Recently, if I use Peerblock, close it, then try to use it again, it refuses to run, and I get this error message:

PeerBlock is unable to load the packet filtering driver.
This could happen is PeerBlock crashed and didn't have a chance to unload the driver, or the file pbfilter.sys can't be found.

class win32 error
The specified service has been marked for deletion.

The only way I've found to make it work again is to restart my system. WTF? I've never had a problem like this before. It's always worked fine in the past.

I'm running R404 on W7 64-bit in an Administrator account with UAC enabled. PeerBlock starts at log on using the Task Scheduler trick and runs as a sub-process of taskeng.exe

This is all good, but there's no icon in the notification area of the task bar, meaning that I can't tell when an IP is blocked. I can access the UI by explicitly running PeerBlock, but the icon is never created.

Any clues?

Hello everyone, I would like some assistance with blocking incoming ips from a country. I'll explain my dilemna: essentially, my brother has gotten mixed up with a pretty bad person from Miami. We are situated in Canada, and what I would like to know exactly is how to prevent communication between them. Any help is much appreciated.

If someone liked to download movies/tv shows, which lists should they use? On iblocklist, is level 1, level 2 and primary threats enough, or do you have any other recommendations? Is it ok to not have anti-infringement list? Is there anywhere else this list can be acquired without having to 'subscribe'? Also, it looks like there's barely any lists on that site, or does it just cover everything..?

Thanks.
