Rapid share issue fixed
December 30, 2009 10:12PM
Hi,

I made a fix for rapid share because it runs on port 24 the allow http will not fix this issue being most are port 80. I found a site with a list of ip addy's from earlier this year. www.uebi.net took their list and made a p2p file

Thx for the incite Mark!

save below as a txt file and change the extension to a p2p file and allow option and it will allow.

can we make it a sticky.

Great, thanks for the list "Elvis"!  smiling smiley  I've even created a new forum in your honor, just to store these sorts of things.  (Okay, it'd been suggested in the past, I just now got around to it...

I've just updated the forum-settings to allow any sort of file attachment.  Would you mind posting a "rapidshare.p2p" allow-list file to make it even easier for people to get this list?  Thanks!

Also, with your permission I'd like to pass this along to fakhir, the guy who runs iblocklist.com for hosting as a new Official List.

Thanks again,

when we use this list as an "allow list" in peer block...does it block other ranges in rapidshare? could someone explain what the use is? i seen where in germany there were some issues..is this why this list was constructed?

No need to I disabled the list a week or so ago and it's been working without it so the list blocking the ports are fixed if you have updated list ... Short term fix no longer needed. But very helpful when needed.

Rapidshare should NOT be blocked. These are false statements from the originator of the blocks.

garyheard, I think blocking certain sites should be up to the person using the connection. If, for some reason, someone wants to block it, why not? Also, I'm pretty sure the people posting in this thread have been using it as an allow list, not a block list.
