whenever i try to connect to a game or try chatting on omgpop.com, my connection is timed out. I've read on their forums and these are the ports omgpop tries to connect to, 5222, 5229, 843, 80. Peerblock blocks a different ip address with those ports whenever i try connecting to a different game. if anyone can resolve this problem that would be gladly appreciated.

The easiest thing to do would be to start right-clicking on the IP addresses that show up as being Blocked whenever you attempt to access the omgpop.com site, and Permanently Allowing them.  (See the Allowing Connections page of our online User Guide for help with that.)  Eventually you should catch them all, and be set.

The best thing to do would be to right-click on each of these IP addresses, and copy them to your clipboard, then paste them into Notepad.  Then create your own custom Allow List that includes just these IP addresses.  (See the Creating Lists page.)  Once you have a working list, feel free to post it here so that other people experiencing this problem can benefit from your hard work!  smiling smiley

Just make sure you're not doing anything else on the Internet besides attempting to use the omgpop.com site, and the only addresses you should see as blocked should be theirs.

Hope that helps,

I finally found the time to try it out and I think that allow list should do it.
Otherwise, these are the ip addresses i found were being blocked.

I took a look at that site, and from the "looks" of the site, I have a feeling that site actually "directly connects" you to your other "players" and so that's why there are so many IP addresses associated with the site....BUT I could be wrong winking smiley I tried one of their "multiplayer" games, and it appears all players "connect" with each other in some way or another

That would make a lot of sense - your machine would use their servers for "matchmaking" and/or NAT hole-punching, then communicate directly with the other players after that.  Would help minimize lag and (their) bandwidth costs since you would be eliminating the middleman.

In that case my recommendation would be to only temporarily allow (e.g. for one hour) IP addresses that show up as Blocked while you're attempting to play with them.

Most of those are in the Amazon EC2 cloud.

Since that place has a mess of spammers spreading trojans
on P2P networks it is best to continue blocking existing ranges
and use a specific allow list just for these games.
