My Room Mate is using all our bandwidth with his torrent downloading.

Posted by Anonymous User
I have a Belkin Router. It does not have any priority features because it is a N wireless router. He is using wireless but I cannot disconnect him cause he pays for the internet to. The router is mine, I have full access to it and he has none. I want to block all torrent downloading. How would i do that?

You'll need to configure your router to limit his downloading. Check the parental controls and see if you can block the tracker address he's using or the port.

PeerBlock won't be able to help since it won't block torrents, ports or manager another PC's network connection.

This business is binary. You're either a one or a zero.
If he is co-operating then open up his P2P app and set his Maximum Download to half the Maximum your ISP is giving you (If two are using it) so if you buying 10Gb download and actually getting 8Gb then set his max to 50% of that or 33% if you share with three and so on
If he is cooperative most torrent programs have a scheduler.
I use uTorrent and with it you can set the schedule to have torrents go all night long.
