Still in development?

Is peerblock still in development? I have seen no activity from the lead programmer, nor has he replied to my emails... Peerblock is brilliant, but it would be a shame if it were to be discontinued.

PeerBlock is still in development. - Recent changes to its source code - [code.google.com]

The Lead Developer, MarkSide has been very busy with work and stuff, so that is the most likely reason he has not replied.

Great.

Do we know when there will be a new stable build, and what it will contain?

I would personally like something to convert my permanent block list with the file extension .p2b to a format that I could post on a site like iblocklist smiling smiley

The next stable build release date is unknown. It will possibly contain bug fixes.

Your permanent block list should be stored in plain text. You can open it in notepad, and should be able to view its contents.

unfortunately the permanent blocklist (p2b) is not plain text... Some of it is, but not much of it. Tried Notepad++ and MSNotepad.

Any suggestions? sad smiley

Can you possibly upload it, and I'll take a look at it.

I think I found a little "trick" to get the "permallow.p2b" to display in plain text.

Open PeerBlock
Open List Manager
Select the "permallow.p2b"
Click Edit
Now, Go to your PeerBlock list folder (C:\Program Files\PeerBlock\lists)
Try and open the "permallow.p2b" in notepad++ or your other program.
You should be able to read it.

p2b is an xml format made by sqlite. ATM there is no converter that I know of that reads it to plain text....

It is a mixture of text and binary data.
It is not XML. If it were, you could simply open it in any of a number of text-processing programs - or even Chrome.

p2b is a binary format created by PeerGuardian/PeerBlock.

p2p is a text format used by PeerGuardian/PeerBlock.

Thanks for all the replies - I decided I no longer need to mirror my perm blocklist over a few machines smiling smiley

Look forward to PB being updated, and hopefully getting more active.
