Peerblock unable to load the packet filtering driver due to class win32 error

Posted by Anonymous User
Hi

My newly installed PeerBlock encounter a problem as following:

PeerBlock Version - PeerBlock v1.1 r518

OS Version - Windows XP Home SP3 32-bit

Firewall/Antivirus Info - Windows Firewall & Avast ver5.0

After I installed the program, when running it, I encounter an error message stating that

Peerblock is unable to load the packet filtering driver due to class win32 error

Likely the result of some strange bug

class win32_error
StartService
23
Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

I have attached the relevant additional conf and log files plus the screenshot of the error message

Background info: I was using PG2 previously until it crashed recently, it gave me a similar error message. I uninstall it and proceed to install
the new PeerBlock as a replacement.

Hope that I have provided all the information required, really appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks

CRC errors are usually related to hardware failure with the hard drive. Has the PC been slow lately? If you go into the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, do you see any Bdisk errors in the System log?

This business is binary. You're either a one or a zero.
Thanks for the reply.

I have done some checks and I think there is an error like you mentioned. However my PC is working fine so far, no lag or crashes.
I have attached the screen of the error in the log. Hope it helps.

Thanks
