Peerblock shows many connections
May 09, 2012 08:16PM
I'm getting alot of connections from random ip's. Usually around 20 or up per minute. Some of these are Anti-P2P, even when not filesharing. Is this normal? I know that Peerblock is supposed to block many connections, but are these ip's actively trying to connect to my computer? Their destination is apparently my router. Are they attempting to spy on my activities? Does these connections get through unscathed when not using peerblock? Should I be worried?

What do you mean? They are all coming from different ip's.

14:45:14 ap2p on Planet Ltd/Source : 93.159.243.52/ Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:44:24 State Enterprise Science/Source : 194.44.110.122/ Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:46:23 ap2p on RENOME-AS/Source : 78.26.128.163/ Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:49:46 NET Virtua/Source : 187.65.163.223/ Destination: 192.168.5:41982
14:49:52 ap2p on Globe Telecom/Source : 124.6.181.177/ Destination: 192.168.5:41982

All are protocol UDP.
This is not even when torrenting. This is just when browsing.
Also, recently, I've been having multiple ips connect to sources other than my router. It seems like these ap2ps are connecting to other ips FROM my router.

Example: 14:49:56 ap2p on Weroam Meridian/Source: 192.168.5:41982/ Destination: 121.54.32.140

Also, I've been getting ips attempt to connect me multiple times in the same few seconds.

Example:
14:54:48 FiberConnexion (Media Defender)/Source : 38.107.163.247:6882/Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:54:48 FiberConnexion (Media Defender)/Source : 38.107.163.247:6882/Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:54:48 FiberConnexion (Media Defender)/Source : 38.107.163.247:6882/Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:54:48 FiberConnexion (Media Defender)/Source : 38.107.163.247:6882/Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:54:48 FiberConnexion (Media Defender)/Source : 38.107.163.247:6882/Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:54:48 FiberConnexion (Media Defender)/Source : 38.107.163.247:6882/Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:55:04 FiberConnexion (Media Defender)/Source : 38.107.163.247:6882/Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982
14:55:05 FiberConnexion (Media Defender)/Source : 38.107.163.247:6882/Destination: 192.168.1.5:41982

All protocol UDP.

What does this all mean?

Those are same attempt to connection from a single ip from a banned range .
UDP protocol is used without formal handshaking process like in a P2P Connection , indeed that port is often used
by some bit torrent clients .
It's all fine .

UNINSTALL SPYWARE TERMINATOR 2102 If you upgraded it. The multiple and high traffic attempts to connect to your PC (from Germany, Russia, and many many more IPs) will go away.
