Driver Error - Peerblock is unable to load the packet filtering driver

Posted by Anonymous User
I keep getting this error window popping up due to PeerBlock which states the following:

Driver Error

Peerblock is unable to load the packet filtering driver

class win32_error
StartService
5
Access is denied.

This occurs on a Windows XP computer with the following:
Service Pack 3
3.5 GB of RAM
Plenty of free hard drive space

Has Avast Anti Virus
Comodo Firewall

Someone please help me with this issue or contact me for more info if needed.

Which version of peerblock are you using? Make sure you have v1.2 installed

Beta Testing Rig: Windows 10 x64 Pro 1803, AMD Ryzen 2700X, 16GB DDR4 @ 3400MHz CL14, Avast! Free Antivirus
I am getting a similiar error message of:
class win32_error open service 1060

It occurs with version 1.1 and 1.2

I have this installed on a Win7 machine with 8 GB or RAM.
Norton Security Suite installed.
Issue began when I upgraded to 1.2. I've reinstalled both versions several times with no change.
Any ideas for a resolution much appreciated!

Are you using XP x32 or x64?
Thanks.

Started there before replying to the forum.
So far two days of searching with no results. :- (
It is XP 32 bit.

I resolved the problem by uninstalling program completely using Revo Uninstaller using advanced mode/setting to wipe out everything. Then I reinstalled the program and it worked without any issues.

Before you tried Revo, did you try the uninstaller that comes with PB and/or the Windows uninstaller?

Were you using the freeware version of Revo?
