Start Peerblock with windows 10
January 12, 2016 11:13PM
After months of annoyance since upgrading to Windows 10 Professional, I have finally uncovered the quick & easy solution to force PeerBlock (and other apps) to load properly at Windows startup.

First, open PeerBlock settings & UNCHECK the box that says "Start with Windows".

Then, run regedit.exe with administrator priveledges & navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Create a new string value & name it PeerBlock. Double-click on the new name to open the Value Data field & insert "C:\Program Files (x86)\PeerBlock\peerblock.exe" for 32bit installations or "C:\Program Files\PeerBlock\peerblock.exe" for 64bit installations.

Close regedit, reboot & VIOLA! PeerBlock loads & appears in the tray just as it should.

You're very welcome. :-)

I figured out how to make t work without my having to ckick every time. When it came up to ask me I set it so it never had to ask me and it now will start without going through that at every boot up.
