Should post the Error-Message... Et Voilá!
January 24, 2010 03:50AM
On my installation- and system-, startup-drive ( C:\ ) are 12.7 GB free. Running XP Prof SP3 German with a fixed swap-file of 1000 MB on a Ramdisk (Just checked if infos bout swap are true - the settings are given so but it reports 3071 MB Swap?!? On any other drive except the Ramdisk Swapping is disabled - can s.o. explain? Possibly caused by Quadcore Q9550 or 4 GB Ram where under XP only 3 GB are in use...)

Before I forget: my XP is a shrinked version for music-production, done before installation by winLite - I'll attach these settings too.

Hope these infos are complete and could help to improve Peerblock - it's great, and loads of germans needs it, because a new f**king law gives lawyers here the possibility to make loads of money with copyrights; they're sending so much letters at the moment - to me three until now were sent with total costs of € 5,400.00 and i can't afford without work at the moment... it's such a sh*t!!!

Greets

Hi, klit. Welcome to the forum!

The error message you're receiving seems to suggest that the disk PeerBlock is installed in is full. You have chosen to have your history file archived every 14 days and the size of the history file is unlimited. You might want to try capping the history file at around 5 megabytes or so unless you really do need it. Also if you have no use for the past history archives, try deleting them. It should free you some disk space so that the program can continue running.

If you have any more problems, feel free to ask. Thanks for your interest in PeerBlock.

As I said: There are 12.7 Gigabytes free on the drive Peerblock is installed to... in the case my disk is out of space, i never would write such a long error report - i'm sure it's something different, perhaps a hard nut to the specialists.

Peerblock is running fine since executing again (did i? not sure, perhaps still running...) without deleting archive files or varying any other stuff on my machine. So i'm fine - only thought it could be interesting to someone herein...

The database utility thought that the logfile had reached its maximum size. Perhaps the logfile was corrupt, or the utility calculated the free space incorrectly, or it had - in fact - reached some internal limit on the number of [index] entries.

Whatever the reason, the "fix" is to delete the logfile and consider limiting its size in future to something reasonable.

Ok, ok, i could do this... but i'm a bit curious - it runs at the moment and i'll see if it happens again, and then take a closer look at the sizes of database, logfile entries, archives and report my experiences here, ok?

WOW...  We really need to implement Issue #28 for people like you - saving aside a copy of your logs is great to help track down the originators of any e.g. copyright infringement notices you should happen to receive, but that's a lot of space going towards that!

Out of curiosity, how much does that 816 MB logfile compress down to if you zip it up?  Somewhere around 130 MB, maybe?
