Tray Icon Blinks even when HTTP Off
February 05, 2010 01:28AM
Hello,

A bug I have noticed in all Versions of PG2 and evident in Peerblock.

When HTTP block is off, at times the Tray Icon will still blink, sometimes even when nothing is being blocked I think.
I have had this problem on XP 32 bit With PG2 and Windows 7 64 bit with Peerblock.

by default the tray icon blinks on every block not just http, at least it did for me when i was using r181 and above.

but if you can, please provide your version number, PB log/conf files for the devs to look at and see if there is a bug that we missed, thanks.

You can try setting the blink tray icon to only blink on HTTP blocks and see if it solves your problem.

Hi,

Brandonjm8 - No, by default peerblock only blinks on HTTP Blocks.

With HTTP Block turned off the icon does not blink most of the time, but it blinks sometimes for no reason. I don't think this has anything to do with settings but is rather a bug in PG/Peerblock that I have noticed for a long time. This does happen rarely though.

I am using Peerblock 1.0

FWIW I have never seen PB (or PG for that matter) blink for "no reason".
I have, however, often seen the activity level high enough (or the system busy enough) that the last HTTP entry scrolls out of the log window of either program well before the blinking triggered by the latest hit has time to finish.

regardless, we are gonna need your log and conf files to determine if in fact you are experiencing a "bug", without those files theres not much we can do.

Hi,

Next Time I experience this, I will post my log files and the .conf file.

Thanks.
