PeerBlock 1.0+ (r277) (released Feb 9, 2010) crash
February 10, 2010 12:28AM
I got a message today saying a new version of PB was available, so I downloaded and installed it.

When starting up it said lists not identified, and then crashed with this error (see attachment).

This is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Interesting.  Could you post your peerblock.log and peerblock.conf files, as per the Known Issues thread, so that we could dig a little deeper into this?

Thanks for the problem report,

Upon rebooting it took right off, still got the "some lists not found" error, but then it started up fine.

Here's the log file and .config file. Sorry, but right click "zip" is not an option and I don't have any zip utilities installed.

Hmm, this peerblock.log looks like it was an archived copy... Did this come out of the c:\program files\peerblock\archives directory? It looks like it was from r223, but I can see an "OPERATION_ABORTED" error in there - this may have been the root cause of the earlier issues you were having.

Could you also please post the peerblock.log file from C:\Program Files\PeerBlock? That one should have more recent info in it than this archived one, possibly providing some more hints...

Thanks again,

Might be a candidate for reinstalling 277 and selecting the option to reset settings.

My mistake. I set it to archive all logs so assumed that's the only place the log files would be. Try this one, which shows the update and error when 1st loading 227.

The older Operation Aborted was from cancelling updates because they were timing out (if I didn't cancel it would sit there for 10 minutes or so before timing out which was a real pain as it was sitting on top of the program, as it does.) Reinstalling 223 fixed that error, so nothing on my system was stopping it from getting updates.
