Multiple Instances problem
March 17, 2010 08:00PM
Hi,

I'm trying to run two instances at the same time on two different user accounts but I can't get the second one to start. Is it possible to do this / impossible / a Windows 7 bug / a PeerBlock bug?

(symptom is clicking just does nothing if there is an instance running on a different user account, no errors, no apparent action)

I've tried both the stable release and the newest beta version.

NB: I don't want to run one instance with two GUIs as mentioned here: two instances, both doing their respective blocking would be fine.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

this is not currently possible. once peerblock is made to run as a system service (Peerblock 2.x) then you can do this.

PS I don't suppose you have even a rough idea when that will be released? (1 month / 6 months / 5 years etc)

6-12 months, leaning towards the 12 months most likely.

There is a great amount of work to be done in order to get it released if you like the idea you should star it on google code...
