Applying HTTP with Individual Lists

*Applying HTTP with Individual Lists, instead of applying HTTP to all selected lists.*

Hello,

I would like a feature, that as an option can be used to be able to select individual lists to be applied as just http, both, or not at all. [Maybe just a few lists applied as http, some applied as both; and some other lists applied without using http.]

For individual selected lists, it could be added to the List Manager. The option of applying both is already a feature applied as “Block HTTP”.

Get the idea?

Hello,

The issue I am having is that I have HTTP connections to block or even to allow, without all selected lists blocking or allowing HTTP at the same time as the few lists that I want to apply with HTTP.
[*I would prefer not using more than one program to do this!*]

[So far, I have noticed that the Standard Option covers: TCP, UDP, & IGMP Protocols; and HTTP being a separate option. >Not that it is a problem or anything like that; I’m just pointing it out.]

Hello,

I am thinking that it could work as an exclusion feature in the “List Manager”, with a check box. Meaning that if a list is selected or deselected it could be excluded from having HTTP connections blocked. (Selecting or deselecting the lists that you want to have excluded from the HTTP Block.)

By the way, I thought someone posted on the 7th of August, maybe the post was a mistake?
I got an email alert and that is why I logged in today.

I'd say this should be the first feature request to add. I don't use P2P at all, instead using PeerBlock as generic security software, and going all-or-nothing with the HTTP makes the ability to add exclusions useless. Simply giving each blocklist "Allow HTTP" or "Block All Connections" will make PeerBlock a much better program, and the program could be better advertised as "not just for P2P".

i wish me this feature too, because much traffic going over "http".
if i would block all http in my paranoid lists, it would be a never ending story to exclude normally websites

MarkSide, what do you think about the time you add this feature?

+1

In List Manager we can select for each list whether to Block/Allow the IPs. It would be great to be able to select Block/Allow not for all communication to the IP's, but select Block/Allow separately for HTTP, custom portsets (see similar request [forums.peerblock.com]) and Other.

Use case: I want to use the Anti-P2P list to block P2P communication, but not HTTP (including many sites on AWS and many sites of tech companies) or Skype.
