Situation + Help + Discontinued?
May 02, 2012 03:00PM
Well...it has been a loooooooooooong time

What's the situation guys? any news for us peerblock lovers? :-)

As far as I know:

- the latest source code version ist from LAST YEAR!!!
==> Ocotober 2011 r617

- even compiled versions won't run on 64bit machines because of the signed-driver-problem
==> there is one guy (a mod, who also was in another forum) who has a signed 64 bit driver, which isn't open for us
===> can we have the driver too?

- will this project being continued? I'm asking because it is a good thing and if you can't, maybe asking around would push this project
==> I (and others as well) wouldn't like to see that it becomes something like peergurdian, which hasn't being followed for a
long time and then ended!

PLS if someone could refer to this points, I think a whole bucnh of people would really thank you for that!

News - [www.peerblock.com]

A signed trunk driver for 64bit Vista/7/ (and possibly 8) is not publicly available.
The trunk (r617 for example) has half-implemented features, such as port allow, driver changes, and all sorts of other stuff that could possibly be broken, so it would be rather dangerous to just have a signed driver available for the public.
Short Answer for a signed driver: No.

As far as PeerBlock being contained.

I assume the "NO" isn't towards the last point: if this project is continued or not anymore !?!

The "No." is for the driver question.

That's the thing:
The news are from 2010 and October 2011. So more then a 6 months ago!

I'll suggest you just spread the word and let the folks know (where the project is right now, etc.). Because lot of the people don't even look int the forum. They will thank you for that.
