Peerblock detected something from US Gov?
July 13, 2011 02:44AM
Has anyone else seen this:

US GOVT FEMA-041215053538 (SOURCE: 2001:0:4137:9e76:3c56:2186:b90c:c931)

Is this something I need to be concerned about?

First, the IP is IPv6 standard. Seems to be, that you don't disable IPv6 on your computer, but you can, it is not necessary yet.
Second, seems the IP is trying to connect you and your IP is listed in 'destination column' - right?

______________________________________________________________________________________________
To disable IPv6 in Win7:
HLM | SYSTEM | CurrentControlSet | services | TCPIP6 | Parameters --> new REGDWORD32 'DisabledComponents'=ffffffff
- support.microsoft.com/kb/929852

Check success: start - run - cmd - ipconfig /all
There should be no IPv6 listed.

By the way, PeerBlock has no IPv6 blocklists. So, [(SOURCE: 2001:0:4137:9e76:3c56:2186:b90c:c931) ] that should be your IP in IPv6 version and the US Gov IP is listed in the 'destination column'.

Then, a possible scenario:
Your computer tried to connect by downloaded scripts from one website to this IP without your knowledge and this try to this IP was blocked by PeerBlock.
