WARNING: Spoofed RIAA Notification Includes Trojan
February 18, 2012 03:51AM
See here: [malwaresurvival.net]

A friend with a website in USA just received an email. The email content is somewhat scary, purporting to come from the RIAA and is about copyrighted material being on my friends site. There is also an executable attachment said to contain the ISP infringement data.

People's first response on getting this BS will be to open the attachment. Don't! The attachment contains the trojan payload that will phone home to Russia (among other things).

I think this affects PCs only.

It probably is from the RIAA. A trojan present from the RIAA club to you.

Not exactly new.
You can make your e-mail look like anything you want, just put in a bank's logo or the RIAA logo and off you go.
Even if just 1 promille click your link or open the payload, this can have devastating results.

Those who do not remember the pasta are doomed to reheat it.
