Windows Hosts File, Speed up Load Times/Ping by 50%

Alright, so it's no conspiracy or paranoia that AKAMAI connects to literally everything you connect to, before you connect to it and opens a connection to your machine.

I have tested this and due to me not needing to load AKAMAIs data and then my own separate data (like if I visit facebook.com), there is a noticable difference in load times (and dramatic ping increase! (51ms to 13ms!!!)

Simply add this line to your hosts file, or copy mine below.

You will see the top line is always connected, the others come and go at times.
I just went from 81ms ping to 10ms ping, loaded facebook.com 61% faster and then loaded twitter 34% faster.

Quite nice.

I have no idea what is going on there, but i'm glad i blocked it out, also if you use skype block this line too:
0.0.0.0 dr.skype.com

Enjoy smiling smiley

I have no idea if the others below the first line are even domains or used as spiders, but, it never hurts.

Turns out that almost every single site that uses any form of a CDN or honeypot, etc, does this first:

You go to domain.com
Your PC does a DNS query for domain.com
domain.com sends a request to AKAMAI, if it's present
AKAMAI sends a request back to your computer
Your PC opens the connection, because AKAMAI has pre-loaded the data and (basically is surfing the tunnel with the actual connection), AKAMAI makes your PC load the data from AKAMAI, then
Your PC connected to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (domain.com)

Adding those really does speed your stuff up, and gets rid of part of the Big Brother Program.
