PeerBlock speed & resources
March 10, 2010 01:32AM
Just found out about PeerBlock and I have a question ( I will try not to sound rude)=

PeerBlock which is based on PG2, is it as fast as PG2 and does it also use very little resources like PG2?

Yes.

It will be as fast as PG2 and use about the same amount of resources.

That was a typo.
It should say "It should be as fast as PG2"

The difference is barely noticable anyway. (probably less than 1% because we have additional logging and some other features).

This is based on my 5 year old machine.

You should try it out and see if it makes much difference to you.

the big difference between PG and PB is that PB has a lot of PG's bugs fixed, not all but a very noticeable amount, enjoy!

typically only during list generation will it use a significant amount of CPU power, memory will be minimal by todays computers standards. generally for me it ranges from 0%-5% CPU and peaking around 80% when list generating and i have a dual-core as well @ 2.4ghz, memory will range from 1mb to sometimes 100mb but usually 1-5mb and i have 4 gigs so i never notice it.
